They tapers came and skimmed the seams on the drywall this morning. The electrician was going from room to room updating the lights and switches. Three new can lights in the rec room today. The contractor and I went and bought carpet for this room.
New pipes! The the plumber has been working hard Sat and today and is all finished with the kitchen plumbing. He still has to get the gas to the stove. But not until the blower and duct is put in for the down draft stove, which we haven't bought, yet.
This is Joel's room.
The upper living room. Such a mess on everywhere. I can't tell you how much debris has been removed but it's crazy. Last I heard, there were six 2-ton dump trips.
The dining room will have two new can lights (the outer two holes). The one in the middle is de-commisioned.
Here's our new master closet. Hopefully one can will be enough light in there. The contractor and electrician wanted 2 but a bigger closet in our current house has only one and it's adequate.
This is our new pantry. We put up a wall to separate the furnace from the canned goods. We also put insulation around it so that the furnace doesn't sound like an airplane landing in our kitchen. When I heard it today, it was so much quieter. Yay for Problem Solvers!
Ted the Plumber is awesome! Such a great attitude. He has had a tough couple of days with one hurdle after another in our bathroom. There was a lot of plumbing in a very small amount of space and he just got in there and made it happen. Good man!
This is how much old pipe he had to replace. Look at that cast iron "Y" beauty there. Yes, he had to get a shovel and dig out the dirt under the house out from under it so that he could get it out of there because there wasn't enough clearance.
Our bedroom looks really small now, but all we need is a bed in there anyway and a little room to walk around. If we've measured right, there'll be just that. And not much else.
New bathroom plumbing! I know it was a crazy couple of days getting to this point. I'm glad that I wasn't there for all the swearing during the process. I just get to see a nice new toilet flange and pipes ready for faucets and such. Voila!
