Jamie's Baptism

Summer was amazing in our new place on Mercer Island.  So much so that I abandoned keeping track of all the parks and busy days of fun that we had.
But now the kids have made it through their first week back to school with enthusiasm and and unexpected joy for their new teachers and schools (yes, we are in two elementary schools this year, but that's a long story for some other day), and the biggest day of Jamie's life puts me back in the mood to blog.
Here he is with the missionaries, who have been teaching him all summer, right before his special ceremony:
This was such a touching and joyous baptism.  My heart is full of love for Jamie and the perspective on life that he has given me.  And Joel gave a heartfelt closing prayer that gave us all happy tears.  I am grateful for the wonderful people who came to share the occasion with us and those who were there in spirit.  Humble thanks for people in the world who affect our lives and the lives of our children for good.
