Mommy Dearest

How many times a day do you yell at your kid?  Be honest, if you can.

many. it usually begins with get out of bed or you won't get breakfast. today began that way but oddly we all mellowed out and i didn't even wince when reese fell into her soup at lunch. even dan was surprised! however, i stepped back in to routine as i yelled for the girls to sit at the table and write their thank-you cards and feel thankful....dang it!!

Fortunately, I did not yell at my kid at all today. Seems I did all that years ago, and she grew up into a wonderful person, who does not need any correction now. Maybe you need to remember that when you feel like a bad mom......stay strong; this is your job for now, and the pay-off may take many years to be visible. Love ya.....Mom

Hi, I'm Tali, an old (it's all relative really) friend of Harlan's from UR. I yell at my son (he turned 13 today) at least once a day for repeat offenses. I don't know why I bother since they are repeated offenses. My 16-yo daughter has finally gotten it and rarely needs reminding.

Honestly, it depends on the day. I probably have to yell at the big kids three times a day (to be heard when I want the fight to stop). The youngest requires little yelling right now--I'm sure she will grow into it. But some days are worse than others...
